I had the great fortune to spend 16 hours in Newark airport due to an extremely delayed flight. Continental though, ensured that we were well fed for our delay with 70 bucks in vouchers. Naturally, I took this money straight to the nearest airport bar, where per chance I sat down next to a 50 year old member of my Fraternity - Pi Kappa Alpha. He ensured that I was properly inebriated for my delay and covered the costs. After he left to catch his flight I passed out at a gate for a few hours and later took my still intact 70 bucks in flight vouchers to an airport steakhouse where I treated myself to the most expensive item on their menu - a 14 oz filet mignon. Then passed out again, still very drunk. I awoke at 1:30 AM and promptly boarded my 16 hour flight over the north pole to Hong Kong.
Have you ever wondered what were to happen if someone were to have a heart attack on a flight over the north pole? Well, I had the misfortune to find out. Flying over the Hudson Bay I was awoken by a urgent announcement made by a flight attendant asking if there was a doctor on board in both Chinese and English. When we realized that the person had passed on, the cheeky British expat sitting next to me announced in his booming voice that the lady who passed away must have really pissed off Santa to be on that naughty list. Even with the magnitude of what had happened, I couldnt help but chuckle and smirk at his distasteful joke. Thank G-d though, the rest of us made it (alive) to Hong Kong around 7:15 am, a paltry 12 hours behind schedule.
Gotta run, next blog post will be about my trip to Lan Qui Fang and Christmas with the Narain's later that evening.

Hello Blog
I am never good with conclusions. With academics, life, goodbyes, really anything endings plainly suck. If you don’t get it – as in thesis, point of contention, comprehension of a person’s character –by the end you just never will. The real story is written between the first and before the last page. Sometimes, the story is nowhere in between, rather its inferred. Anyways, that’s why I am writing this blog. I probably will tell you all sorts of crazy stories of my ridiculous antics when I return of my raging with Naveen Narain in Hong Kong, or when I am by myself (more on that later) in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia, but I think a blog written while I am amidst in my travels will convey more of those middle of the page details, stories and other forms of pure ridiculousness.
Soooo, I leave Wednesday first to Hong Kong for a few days. After Hong Kong I was supposed to meet up with a friend to travel through Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia but he decided to cancel for bullshit reasons –I hate to call someone out, but not in this case. I guess people aren’t raised with the same values I have been. I was taught that when you commit to something you live up to your word, especially when big money is involved. Too bad for him. Regardless, I am beyond pumped for this trip.
Updates to come, stay tuned!
